Overview

SIP is an IETF standard that defines the protocols for audio-visual communication sessions over IP. It is widely implemented by voice and videoconferencing equipment manufacturers.

AS SIP is an acronym for Assured Services (AS) Session Initiation Protocol (SIP). AS SIP network entities include Local Session Controller (LSC), Softswitch, Edge Boundary Controller (EBC)

The Valid8 AS-SIP Feature Tester allows you to test AS-SIP capable equipment. It enables continuous testing through the network to report quality and find issues. It is useful for equipment manufacturers, small and large carriers: ILECs, CLECs, ASPs, ISPs, as well as enterprise customers. It automates deterministic verification of features, saving time and increasing effectiveness and coverage of testing. Test modes are selected via the UI or the API. It reports on media received, call connect time, call duration, jitter, packet loss. It verifies equipment is working and configured as it should.

Features

  • Tests AS-SIP devices

  • Check registration, and both inbound and outbound voice calls

  • Check CCA-ID and Resource Priority handling

  • Report on media received, call connect time, call duration, jitter, packet loss

  • Generate valid and invalid/negative messages and call-scenarios

  • Supports sending invalid responses including malformed, dropped and misordered packets

  • Alerts and notifications

  • Check parameters in messages from SUT and flag errors

  • Supports UCR 2013
